Rod was born in Kitchener Ontario Canada on sept 5th 1969.

 

  His early childhood was spent between the Yukon and Alberta ,while his preeteens through to his early 20s was spent in Northern Ontario .

Rod migrated back to the Yukon in his early 20s  spending the next 20 odd years between the Yukon and Northern B.C.

Currently he is Living on Vancouver Island in East Sooke , with plans of splitting his time between Dawson City Yukon and Vancouver Island for the next few yrs.

 

  Rods primary profession is within the many fields of mechanics ,having worked everything from small engine to heavy duty mechanic along with owning his own garage and towing company . During this time he has owned and opperated Tattoo studios and shops .

 

  Since his early childhood Rod has shown artistic interest and ability sketching and drawing till he first picked up a brush in his teens .

Primarily painting in Acrylics till his early 30s when he found his love of Oils .

There have been a few gaps in his painting over the years but at 40 Rod got serious about his painting and has been full steam ahead in the yrs since.

 

  Rod paints with a passion from both his heart and soul looking for color and movement in his finished works .Rods paintings can be found in private collections throughout Canada and the United States  and as far away as England and Argentina . Currently Rods paintings are on display in the Zhur gallery in Dawson City Yukon ,altho private sales and commissioned works can be aranged through his web page .

 

  Being a self taught artist Rod finds freedom from rules to express his vision through his use of bold color on his canvas . His many interests can be found in his choice of Nudes,Faces,Flowers (which he calls his color bombs)and his recently found love of landscape . 

 

  The name  Wandering soul or paintings from the mind of a Wanderer stem from a Friend /Muse , who claims Rod to be a gypsy and a wandering soul that will never setle down .. :)
